Within these three phases, I enumerated 10 Steps To Strategic Blogging. I will enumerate them here in case you haven't seen them yet.

But before we are doing these things, we must first look at ourselves, our TALENTS and our ATTITUDES. I will say it again: TALENT IS THE KEY, ATTITUDE IS THE DRIVING FORCE of all we want to achieve.

After we came to terms with ourselves, then there is the GOAL, the Goal Setting Activities or the number 1 in the list.

Whew! And why I am repeating these things here?

I think it is the time to revisit the GOAL and of course, if it is needed, RESET THE GOAL.

We oftentimes afraid to go back to our goal because we knew we failed along the way. But, this fear of revisiting the goal, more so, the fear of resetting the goal, will push us further away from our success and we are moving nearer to our impending doom.

I always come across with this: RINSE AND REPEAT. Yeah, it's true. But how?

Here, these are what I am doing.

1. Revisit Your Goal, reset it whether you achieved it or not.
2. Know Your Failures, make a list and arrange them according to severity.
3. Know Your Successes, make a list and arrange them according to frequency.
4. Reward Your Self, take a break and enjoy your failures and successes.
5. Share Them With Others.

Last Sunday, I brought the idea of de-cluttering our home to my wife. 'We are going to get rid some of our stuffs that we are not using anymore.'

Like a cornered dog, she barked at me. 'How can we get rid of those stuffs and have some money in return, aber?!'

She had a point. We are living in a small village and our town is not urban, either. So, selling those goods in a garage sale is not a good idea.

'Why not give some to our neighbors for them to put some in good use?' I said.

'Nope. I don't want to see our things being used.'

Having no idea on how to get rid of those stuffs, I gave up. But, having an internet connection gives a lot of leverages, I tried to search on how I could solve our problem. Again, again, again. This is another piece of storytelling. If you have a knack of telling good stories, give it a try. You'll gain more than you have imagined.

If I will tell you now that if you want to make money online or become successful with your home-based business anchored on the Internet, you should make sticky contents because content is king, optimize your site or article to land on the first page of any search engine or keywords play great roles, then, well, you'll say: 'Back off I already knew those things, give me something new.'

But if I will tell a story on how I was able to realize that storytelling could make a difference and I will give a scene on how it had happened, probably you'll stick to me for a few more paragraphs.

I WAS A DUMB ASS.

Last July, I had a chance to meet again my former professor who become my mentor, second only to my parents, of course, in everything I do. He didn't know it but I made him my model.

After more than 10 years, at last, we have had a good reminiscing time.

'How are you doing right now?' He asked.

'I am working with a cooperative and busy helping the poor', I said.

'Well, I read your posts in your blog. They're great but you stopped lately putting online your short stories, poems and rants. What are you so busy with, aside from your cooperative's works?'

I laughed and I sighed.

'I put up a blog hoping to make money online...at least to make ends meet. But', I paused, 'I was stuck into it but I haven't earned 10 dollars. No one is reading it, I supposed.'

I was totally giving up. And the lights were fading out. Shadows were oneing with darkness.

Astonished he shook his head. I saw in Ariel's eyes that he couldn't believe what I said. 'No one is reading it, huh?' He said. 'How are you doing it? I mean, the way you wrote your piece, the tone, etc?'

'Well, I wrote it like a feature essay, like the usual article thing.'

'I think you are making yourself dumb!' He knocked me down with this statement.

'I'm making myself, WHAT? DUMB?' I almost shouted.

'Yeah, I mean it. You are dumb ass. Well, I mean, you have the knack of telling stories. Tap it. Show to your readers, not tell them.'

'You are writing short stories and poems but it seems you do not know the power beyond them.' Now, now, the accomplished writer of him was coming out.

'Stories are experiences, personal experiences and your readers could relate to them. Stories are authentic experiences. Good stories could suck readers live with the time in the story. Stories and readers could become one. Hence, stories could affect your readers' behaviors. Readers cry because the story is sad, they laugh because it is funny, they get angry because the scenes invoke anger. Stories create emotions and you could control those as the writer. Use it.'

Uhummmmm...

'Stories, good stories or bad stories, are easy to remember. They stick. Have you not wonder why motivation speakers clicked to their audiences? Instead of giving lecture through PowerPoint Presentations, they use image-enhanced storytelling as medium.'

'Well, keep coming. Tell me more of you.'

'Stories are viral. Satisfied readers or listeners could repeat the story with their own version of it.'

Oh, the lights were flickering. Business signages were on, giving the area a glowing evening.

'Lastly, stories are subtle. You are only telling experiences not selling. But, selling is story telling.' He sipped his last drop of coffee. He stood and embraced me.

'I've got to go, the bus is coming. See you on December.' He flagged down the bus and waved his hand.

Whew! I did not have the time to thank him.

'Thank you, Professor.' I murmured.

Okay, telling stories do help you make money online.

Just recently, I overheard my 11 years old son, Hans, telling something to his 4 years old little brother just to keep him away from his study desk. He said: When I was like you, Papa lulled me to sleep by his stories like how Bannuar (a folk hero in Ilocano) helped his village killed the great giant, Kabuntitiao, who ate all young children while pasturing their goats.

Hans stood up from his chair and did something like sky-walking, hands up in the air, then he suddenly grabbed his little brother on the neck and growled: GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

Kabuntitiao did just like that! Hans said.

Eman struggled a bit and run towards me. Scared!

I smiled. I opened my hands to embrace the kid who was scampering towards me. Upon catching his breath, he said: Do you really tell to Hans those scary stories Papa?

Yes, of course, but not all were scary.

Can you tell me some stories, too?

Sure, I will. But, you should be brave enough and promise to not to do something stupid. Keep away from your brother while he is doing his assignments or else 'Kabuntitiao' will eat you.

Okey, I will. Eman said.

And so, I made up some stories and lulled him towards sleep.

Well, from the above example, Hans got rid of his brother from annoying him while doing his homeworks. I also made a point to discipline Eman to be brave and not to do something stupid.

I lulled him to sleep.

And why I am telling you this?

I learned that telling stories could also change behaviors and kept some people stuck to you. You grabbed their attentions, created some emotions and inserted some lessons into the stories. What a great way to discipline your kids! Good stories stuck and the learning will be there for some time.

Have you ever wonder why BATMAN stories were sold like hot cakes?

Have you noticed that TV commercials are all stories of the benefits of merchandises being sold? All are good stories and at the end of the commercials are the products.

If your answers are YES, why not copy these to your online businesses?

Sales Pages are stories. Of course, not all of them do, but those sales pages that made money online are pages of stories, good stories if not great stories. Some are unbelievable, though.

Try to look at these pages, an asphalt entrepreneur who become an asphalt king of his own and a mom who made big time online taking a clue from her son's illness..

Read them and they are all stories. Learn from them if you like to make money online telling stories.

Today, 07 October 2009, is the 57th anniversary of the first patent of bar code. Norman Woodland and Bernard Silver filed the patent on October 1949 and was granted on October 07, 1952. You can read more about the Barcode or Bar Code at wikipedia.

And Google celebrates this by putting a Barcode in its homepage. If you haven't notice it, here is a screen shot of the Google Barcode Logo.

Barcode is the omni-present technical innovation that is seldom noticed or given attention to. Its importance is to put a distinct mark on anything with barcodes. Barcode was originally used to label railroad cars but evolved as useful tag in supermarkets and almost anywhere.

Coincidentally, Williard Boyle and George Smith, inventors of imaging technology using sensor called Charge-Coupled Device (CCD), were hailed as Nobel Prize in Physics Awardees. Their invention complimented the use of barcode or bar codes. Barcodes can be read by optical scanners called barcode reader using the the light sensing technology.

Google as always finds a way to celebrate great events. Google Barcode Logo is a good tribute to a very useful invention, indeed.

Charles Kao, Williard Boyle and George Smith were hailed by Nobel jury as "Masters of Light" for transforming communication from copper-wire telephony and postal mail to the era of Internet, Email and instant messaging. These three great physicists unleashed the Information Technology Revolution.

It is high time and right to give them that recognition. I am not here posting this article and you are not here also reading if not of their breakthrough discoveries.

Charles Kao's 1966 discovery on fibre optic made possible of transferring text, music, images and videos around the globe in a split of a second.

While Williard Boyle and George Smith discovered that they could convert lights into electrical signals in 1969 and invent imaging semiconductor circuit called Charge-Coupled Device (CCD) sensor. This breakthrough revolutionised photography as well as medicine. Let us thank them if we owned digital cameras.

These three were chosen last Tuesday, 06 October 2009, as recipients of this year's Nobel Physics Prize.

I am not a SEO expert and I don't aspire to be one either. But, as I read blogs, they are all stressing some points on SEO and SERP concepts. Whoaa! What are those?

Okay, I read some of the importance of those concepts but I just can't grasped how would I do it. So much so that this site is sitting on sub-domain (sigh).

Enough with this self-pity. I can't make money online with it. I have to do something-- bundle those learning I made from burning the internet with my waking hours.

In my last post, I talked about me being scammed and cautioned also people not to rush things because making money online is now crowded as niche for an online home business. And there are people out there ready to devour the unsuspecting searchers of money through Internet. Ebooks are given as gifts of overpriced guide of a guru or gurus.

Well, I just assumed those things. I was scammed, that's it!

It is innate to people of being curious. They clicked and still clicking links. So, be it. If nobody clicks, no one could make money online. Just avoid those landmines.

If you could see the links up above, those are Google Ads. These ads are oftentimes parts of any web pages, may it be dynamic pages or static pages. Well, I do clicked on those ads even though I know that some of them could lead me to sites that possibly offering me ‘get rich quick’ schemes promising me millions. Yes, I clicked hoping this one is different. There you go, an ad offering me of making not only $1,000.00 a month but $100,000.00. More, a new home business that could make money online without even spending any cost, a guru offering me to duplicate his system that gave him a mansion and a car. An ad like this could be the answer of one’s dream. But, WAIT.

Those ads could shatter your dreams forever.

Let us take a look of ways of limiting your chances of falling victim to another Internet business scam. You must do these first before going full blast with your Internet home business. I always do these. It is stupidity to fall into the same trap for the second time.

1. Search with Google or Yahoo the name of the Guru/s who is/are offering you a system. Try to look for what other’s say about him/them.
2. If the site is promising you a ‘too good to be true income’ system, the possibility of being scammed is high.
3. Ensure that the program has a money back guarantee for at least 2 months or more for you to try the program and return it later if it doesn’t work.
4. If the program says you could duplicate the system, think of the scenario that millions came to know the system first before you. You are competing with millions.
5. Try to check the business if this is registered. Establish the authenticity of the business first with Better Business Bureau or the likes.
   

It is better to become skeptic first than to lost time and money with scam programs. It is hard to trust someone we do not know.

Lastly, the knowledge you gained from any Internet searches could not make you money overnight. It needs perseverance, commitment and constant learning to make it effective. Apply your knowledge to one business, duplicate it and expand. (I am still trying to do this, LOL.)

When I put up this blog, all I want to do is to journalize my journey of making money online through a blog. As I stated in this site's About Me, one of my friends, after talking to me, put up a sales page and maintained it for awhile and I also reported that the sales page do gave us some dollars enough only to meet the cost of domain name and cost of a year hosting. That sales page (I will not put a link here because we learned later that the MLM we promoted sucks!) was dedicated for a MLM company and for some months we did have referrals that gave us commissions. As novices of this niche, make money online, we fell as victims of nicely worded sales pages, we jumped into the bandwagon thinking only what we get in return, that is, making money online BIG TIME! and without even analyzing and knowing the credibility of the company we were in.

As only consolation for us, the sales article we used was given by the MLM and we did not put our pictures and full names on that page. I just can't imagine how devastating for us if we did those things. A newbie blunder but it served us good.

For all those who happened to be part or lured in to our sales page, I regret being part of a scam. I was scammed too. We were scammed. We folded the sale page and we did learned our lessons the hard way.

And why I am telling this here? Well, if so happened that you dropped by this site looking for opportunities of making money online or for a simple reason of knowing some stuff that pays you while doing some internet writing or just by being curious of the thing: blogging for money, then you will take some extraordinary efforts to pick good marketing programs. Picking the wrong one will destroy your credibility especially so, if the first clients you have are your personal friends or friends of your friends and family members.

While doing some researches on this niche and by blogs hopping, I learned a lot. This make money niche maybe is dirty and crowded but there are also true people who made money online by helping others. They help people through their blog posts as well as their ebooks. But, be careful. Some ebooks are good, some are good only in sales pages. Remember that. I have already learned those things and they almost made me bankrupt!

Well, don't grab an ebook when they push on you too much by giving extra free credits or ebooks or programs or putting days counter before they pull off those stuffs. Those are legal marketing tricks: STRIKE WHILE THE IRON IS HOT! Mostly, these ebooks are good as junks. You could wait for some time and search for a review for those particular ebooks.

Well, we are too late a hero to earn extra money on this niche and we do not need to rush anymore. Let us try to learn and take the knowledge somewhere and there we will make money online BIG TIME!

While doing your research, grab only free ebooks from blogs or bloggers who are giving away their ebooks which they paid for some dear sums of money. I'd like to give you an example, Sir Russell Bravo of russelldotcom.com is giving away his collections of ebooks and he also posted an article about The Truths Behind Ebooks in his site. When I started this blog, I asked my blogging friend Jake F. Ilac to make a template for me. He made the Arapaap Template and I used it for awhile.

Good story sells. And so, I thought.

Magazines, newspapers, films, etc are telling stories and they are being sold like hot cakes. Nowadays, people are being ‘sold’ by a good ‘story’ and not much of ‘facts’.

TV commercials are stories. Have you not wonder why they are effective? Facts are boring as well as overwhelming.

Of course, ethically, a well-told story should be supported with and by facts. But, facts should be interwoven in a good story to be effective.

In my quest to make money online, I learned that good story telling could make a difference in making money online. I have yet to make a decent income online, though. (LOL).

You’ve crossed some sales pages, I know. They are all telling stories on how successful they are by just using their newly found systems or programs. And mostly, people believed in them without giving attention to the disclaimers that are intentionally written in small letters at the very bottom of the pages. Few seem to care whether those stories are grounded in any factuality.

Good stories sell, I’ll say again.

I am convinced with this thinking. And I am starting to work on it. Let's see how far I could go.

A good story is a vital sales tool. This is an article that delves on this point. Here’s a paragraph of that article:

Other than those glossy case studies produced by your marketing department, do your salespeople regularly share true examples of customer successes with prospects? Even if you have a lot of money, if you don't know how to use it online, you will simply be dumping it into the gutter - never to see any return on investments.

You have to get higher education from people who have successfully made an income online either by buying their material or seeking their help. Some people will say that if you want anything, you can find it online. That's true. But the things you don't want is also available online.

I have noticed that for about two months, my blog is receiving posts that I did not even subscribed at. And it is now annoying. It dampens the credibility that I am trying to project here. Though, sometimes, I syndicated some free articles, I never wanted having two liners populating my blog as well as my feeds.

Since I started this blog, I already subscribed to its feeds so that I could also monitor how my blog's feeds look like when my subscribers received them. And annoyingly, two liner posts are populating my feeds. I am wondering how this happens because I never submitted my blog to any autoblogging platform.

Thus, I am appealing for some patience from you. I am working on it and I hope I could get rid of these two liner posts soon.

Another down effect of these spam posts is that I have to delete them. And I think Google doesn't want a blog that constantly deleting its posts. (Sigh)

My experiences working with a conventional co-operative-- which primary concern is helping the poor having decent savings through loans, that is, giving them additional capital to start or prop up their businesses -- gave me a hard earned lesson that it takes to build a business that earns a profit.

Having with me an on-time loan monitoring system as well as the progress indices of borrowers, I understand that successful people are those people who invested time and money early in their lives. I know this is a very simplistic view and it doesn't work always but I've seen successful people who are investing now and reaping all fruits in the near future. I've experienced this also myself. Mostly of these successful investors are willing to pass their enthusiasm on to others. Learn from them.

I want to be like them and I supposed you also want to be like them, too.

Patience and great mindsets-- these could be ever-changing mindsets, open minds that see things as they grew -- are essentials to become successful online and offline.

I only started with SFI just recently, just about two months to be exact, and I might have licked things off a little differently than others. There are a lot of amazing people out there who are always ready to help somebody succeed in their chosen endeavours like the elusive search of true make money online program. Afterwhich, just go back to yourself and check your level of confidence. If you are like me, a skeptic one or just a cautious person, just find some time to remove clouds of thoughts that are blocking your own potentials of making money with affiliate marketing.

So, why I took so many days to figure how SFI works?

I just need to digest all that overwhelming information and let those sink in a bit. I learned that I should stop accumulating many information from a lot of money online opportunities that are bombarding everyone who are trying to make money online. Just this morning, a sad news came out that former Philippine President Corazon Aquino is dead.

I will make this post as a tribute to a wife of a martyr who gave up his own life to rally his people against a dictator.
